Gangadi Brahmin in India
pronounced: GAHNG-ah-dee BRAH-min

Daily worship and chanting of sacred texts are an integral part of many Brahmins' lives, even if this is only a token routine for many. Most Brahmin families much prefer their sons and daughters to take advantage of their educational opportunities and earn a good living as computer engineers, doctors, or business managers.

Ministry Obstacles: One can never predict what an individual Brahmin might believe or disbelieve. One who would reach them with the gospel must be ready to deal with any mindset. Different Brahmins have very different spiritual beliefs.

Outreach Ideas: Their main needs involve relational strains that are usually kept behind closed doors. Loving believers can earn the trust of Gangadi Brahmin families and help them survive these heart-level problems that few are willing to address. In doing so, they can show them how Christ offers hope and guidance. Most Gangadi Brahmins speak English because higher education in India is mostly in the English medium. This situation increases outreach opportunities in audio, visual, and written Bible resources.

Scripture Focus: "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me." Psalm 51:10

Scripture Prayer: Pray for leaders among this people group to have hearts that seek to be clean before the Lord, and that they will teach others His ways.

Prayer Focus: Pray that the Gangadi Brahmins in India will be spiritually open to Bible resources. Pray that they will take what they learn to their families and that discipleship movements and church plants will occur among them soon.
