Laowu of China
The Laowu believe a complex hierarchy of spirits guide and control their lives. They also consider it important to worship their ancestors. Laowu marriages are traditionally arranged through a matchmaker. A shaman is consulted. If the horoscopes of both parties are agreeable and if the parents on both sides give their consent, the two may become engaged.
The Laowu devotion to shamans and spirits will not be easy to overcome.
Stories from Scripture, following a chronological approach, can provide a foundation for understanding the good news of Christ.
There is no Christian presence among the Laowu people in China. However, please pray for the followers of Christ that will soon emerge from this people group. Pray the Lord will prepare excellent pastors and teachers for them.
Pray the Laowu will be released from devotion to created things to know and worship the creator God.
"How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?" Romans 10:14-15
