Bania unspecified of India
"Bania" is something of a generic term, and there are many Bania communities. The Bania trace their history back about 5000 years. About 50 communities have a traditional caste council, election to which is by a voice vote among 44 communities and by secret ballot among six. Widow remarriage is allowed among half of Bania communities, and divorce has gained social approval among 33 communities.
Longstanding traditions make it difficult for people to alter their worldview. It takes time.
The Bania are widely dispersed. Pray for workers.
Pray for the Christian believers that will emerge from the Bania communities, that the Lord will provide well-qualified teachers and pastors for them, and that they will grow properly to maturity in the faith.
Pray for the Bania, that they will be given a hunger to know the One who came to give them life eternal.
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever." Revelation 11:15
