Anti-Semitism has steadily increased in the last 15 years in France, resulting in thousands of Jewish people's migrating to Israel, Canada and the United States. Rather than leave France, some Jewish people have discretely decided to leave Paris and move into the suburbs; many have chosen to hide their Jewishness. Nearly three-quarters of the French public consider anti-semitism a problem that affects all of French society. Over 85% of Jewish people have experienced anti-Semitic incidents, which mainly have occurred in the streets, schools, stores and workplaces through verbal abuse, physical attacks and shootings, leaving a number killed. Synagogues have been vandalized, and Jewish cemeteries defaced.
Fear and anxiety due to anti-semitism have caused the Jewish people in France to distrust believers who desire to reach out to them.
Consistent friendships by Messianic Jewish believers can bring the comfort and love of God to the French Jewish people in a way that leads them to further trust God the Father.
"His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’" Matthew 25:21
Pray that many in this people group become good and faithful servants of the Master and celebrate with Him in the coming kingdom.
Pray that God would open the minds, hearts and souls of the Jewish non-believers to accepting Jesus as their Messiah, who desires them to know his grace and give them eternal peace. Pray for a movement to Christ among French Jews this decade. Pray for loving ambassadors of Christ to reach out to French Jews in France.
