pronounced: rah-WAHT
The term Rawat signifies a prince; it is a title borne by the relatives of a king. Traditionally, the Rawat are a landowning community engaged in farming. Their attitude towards education, medical and family welfare programs is favorable. Their family deity is Ashapridebi. Village level and regional level deities are Bherujee and Matajee.
The Hindu Rawat have little concept of a personal, creator God who loves them personally.
Stories from Scripture, combined with Gospel films and recordings, can be used effectively.
Many nations will join themselves to the Lord on that day, and they, too, will be my people. I will live among you, and you will know that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies sent me to you. Zech 2:11
Pray that this people group would be among the many nations that soon join themselves to the Lord.
Pray for the followers of Christ that will soon be found in the Rawat community, that the Lord will provide qualified pastors and teachers for them, and that they will be well established in the faith. Pray for the Rawat community to increasingly be aware of their need for forgiveness of sin, and that the creator God loves them.
