The Samas are a Sindhi tribe who live in Pakistan’s Sindh Province. They speak the Sindhi language and are Muslims. The Sama have been in Sindh for a long time. They are descendants from the Sama Dynasty that ruled in Sindh from the fourteenth century to the first part of the sixteenth century. The capital was at Thatta. Every year many do pilgrimages to Thatta to respect the dead people buried there whom they regard as saints. Thatta was regarded as being very important for religion and for trading. There are buildings that remain today from the days of the Sama Dynasty.
Pakistan is a Sunni Muslim country that does not welcome the gospel message, and there are no known believers among this particular people group. The Lord will need to begin the humanly impossible task of making Christ known to the Rind Baloch people.
If someone went to the Sindhi people as a cultural learner, they can learn their music and story-telling customs. They can make recordings that can be uploaded on the internet for these people to access.
Though there are a few believers among Muslim Sindhis in Pakistan, none of them are from the Sama community. Pray for the Lord to change this situation in the near future.
* Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to salvation and the eternal blessings of God the Father. * Pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to Sama family leaders in such a way that they will open the door for Jesus to transform their communities. * Pray for a disciple-making movement that will demonstrate to others what good comes to communities that surrender to Christ.
"To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things" Ephesians 3:8-9
