The Moghals are one of the more prominent groups in Pakistan since their ancestors were among the conquerors of old. They are well-respected today so they try to marry within their own community in order to maintain their high status. Today they often work in government and public service positions. This people group lives not only in Pakistan but also in Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
Pride in one's heritage is often a reason people don't think they need a savior. Between their high status and the Islamic religion, the Moghals will continue to believe that they are self-sufficient and don't need a savior until God intervenes.
Pakistan is a closed country, and the Moghals are a closed people group. There needs to be groups of people who will pray until something happens among the Moghals of Pakistan.
Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel to rescue his servants who trusted in him. They defied the king’s command and were willing to die rather than serve or worship any god except their own God." Dan 3:28
Pray that leaders of this people group will be as amazed at the works of God as this Babylonian king. Pray that they will worship God alone.
As far as we know, there are no Moghals who follow Christ. Therefore pray for a spiritual breakthrough. * Pray that the Lord will bless the Moghal people economically and spiritually, so that they will see that the Lord is good! * Pray for a spiritual hunger among the Moghal people that will lead them to embrace Jesus Christ. * Pray for the Lord to raise up a way for Moghals to hear the gospel, and respond to it by being discipled and disciple others.
