pronounced: gao-LEE YAH-dahv
The Gaoli Yadav people live in many different regions of India and Nepal. Their primary languages are Hindi and Bhojpuri. The main occupations of the Yadav Gaoli are agriculture and herding cattle. They also sell dairy products, but as Hindus do not sell or eat beef. The Gaoli encourage their children to obtain higher educations. Educated Gaoli work in professions like medicine, computer science, teaching, engineering, and government service.
Yadav consider themselves to be devout Hindus. When a Gaoli comes to Christ, he or she may be shunned by their family. The family is everything to a Hindu.
Bibles and literature are available in Hindi. Hindu background believers can share with the Gaoli the blessings of having their sins forgiven by God through Christ.
Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Sing to the Lord; praise His name. Each day proclaim the good news that He saves. Ps 96:1-2
Let many from today’s people group sing a new song of praise to the Lord.
There are currently no known believers in Christ among the Gaoli. Pray that God leads many Gaoli to His Son soon. * Pray that Hindi Bibles and gospel materials lead the Gaoli to Jesus Christ. * Pray for a movement of Jesus to heal and strengthen Gaoli Yadav communities. * Pray that many Gaoli become followers of Christ and begin a church planting movement.
