Saini (Sikh traditions) in India

pronounced: say-NEE

The Sikh Sainis are farmers who usually own their own land and are somewhere in the middle in terms of status. They are hard-working and skilled at their work. They are also known as Mallies in other parts of India.

Ministry Obstacles

The Saini people have been dependent on the teachings of Guru Nanak and other Sikh prophets for centuries. Few of them have had the chance to hear what Jesus taught.

Outreach Ideas

There have been many Sikhs who have found Jesus as savior. Perhaps some of them will be willing to go to the Saini community.

Prayer Items

Pray that the few Saini believers will joyfully and lovingly share the teachings of Jesus with their people. Pray that the Lord will give them the gifts of healing and intercession, so they can be used by God to demonstrate the power and love of our Lord. * Pray for grace and truth expanding into entire Saini communities as all believers learn to love others. * Pray that churches and believers will bless their entire people group in such a way that God's love will change the Saini people like yeast changes dough. * Pray for networks of believing families and fellowships that will throw the doors open for others to follow Jesus.

Scripture Focus

"God has granted to the Gentiles [nations] also the repentance that leads to life." Acts 11:18
