The Kunbi are progressive agriculturists, but there are also politicians and educated professionals, including engineers and doctors. Traditionally they accept food and water from the Rajput, Brahmin and Baniya and share water sources with other communities of the village. They worship Mahavir, Hanumanji and Matamai as their village deities. Their boys study up to the primary level while girls usually do not attend school. Most Kunbis are in a farmer/tiller sub-caste and have two main branches—the Leva Patils and the Patidars.
Much prayer is needed, as the Kunbi know very little about Jesus, but fear Christianity as an invading threat to their families and communities.
Workers need to sow God's Word into Kunbi families, healing and strengthening households with God's blessing.
Pray that the few believers among the Kunbi will grow in sharing and discussing God's Word with their families and community.
Pray for the entire Kunbi community to be delivered from fear of Christendom and to embrace God's blessing through His Word for their families and their communities.
"All nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord, they will bring glory to your name." Psalm 86:9
