Many Nepalese fled from Nepal, their homeland, when it became a nation-state in the 1950s. The Nepalese are farmers who work hard to cultivate terraces on hillsides. The majority of the Nepalese worship many gods. They also believe in ghosts and demons that haunt the crossroads and rivers. Offerings are made to these spirits in order to appease them.
A long history of worshiping false gods must be overcome to come to the place of fully trusting Christ.
The church is growing rapidly among several people groups in Nepal. Pray some of these people will carry the Gospel message to the Nepalese in other countries. Many communication tools are available in the Nepali language.
Pray for the believers who will soon come to faith within this people group. Pray they will grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and be a vibrant testimony for him.
Pray all Nepali will hunger to know the love and forgiveness found only in Jesus Christ.
"I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples." Psalm 108:3
