Sondhia in India

pronounced: sohn-dee-AH

The Sondhia are Hindus. They are looked on as a backward caste, meaning that they have low status. Although farming is their main work, some are now urbanized.

Ministry Obstacles

The Sondhia live mainly in Rajasthan, a state where about one in 1,000 professes Christ. There are probably no believers for hundreds of miles around who can be salt and light to them.

Outreach Ideas

There are people from so called "backward" castes in other parts of India who can go to the Sondhias as missionaries.

Prayer Items

There are no believers among this group, so there needs to be faithful intercessors to prepare the soil. * Pray for a "Book of Acts" type of movement to Christ among the Sondhia people. * Pray for Holy Spirit anointed believers from the Sondhia people to change their society from within. * Pray for a movement in which the Holy Spirit leads and empowers disciples to make more disciples.

Scripture Focus

"Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest?' Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest." John 4:35
