Kabardian people came dangerously close to ethnic extermination as victims of the century-long Russo-Circassian wars that ended in 1864. Considering the epic devastation, the tragic expulsion/emigration/destruction of 90 percent of their population from their Russian homeland, their national survival into modern times is almost unbelievable. They are strong in hospitality, saying, "A guest is a messenger from God" or, "The guest of a Kabardian is as safe as if protected by a fortress."
Once characterized by folk Islam, Kabardians are now increasingly plagued by an encroaching attraction to radicalism among many youth. Attacks and counterattacks between rebels and military police both claim innocent lives and exacerbate instability and deepen bitterness and mistrust in the region.
Pray for one person to receive Jesus Christ as Savior, who will lead his/her family to Him, who will reach other families resulting in new believers who will share their faith with others. Pray for many house churches among these hospitable people.
"Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—" 1 Peter 2:2
Pray that the believers in today’s people group would long for the word of God and grow into spiritual maturity.
There are presently no known followers of Christ among the Kabardian people in Turkey. * Pray that young Kabardians will catch the vision of Almighty God who loves them infinitely, and will become a new generation of fruitful, multiplying witnesses within their people group, thrusting down spiritual roots.
