Laki in Iran

pronounced: LAH-kee

The Laki people of Iran live in the southwest of the country and speak Laki which is a northwest Iranian language. Laki has become one of the main Kurdish languages in Iran. Several tribes speak Laki including the Jalilavand and the Osmanvand.

Ministry Obstacles

They follow a traditional religion called Ahl-E-Haqq and Shia Islam.

Outreach Ideas

Simple things grow, simple things multiply. Pray for a simple church and small groups to be a hallmark of the Holy Spirit's work to maximize fruitfulness among these people who do not presently have God's truth.

Prayer Items

There are no known followers of Christ among the Laki people in Iran. Pray that the Holy Spirit will raise up many prayer teams to pray for the Laki people until the blessing of knowing Jesus is spreading rapidly in this remote region from family to family.

Scripture Focus

"I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations ... Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth." Psalm 57:9-11
