Saudi Arabia is the home of the Gulf Arabs, who are nomads and villagers and live in the harsh desert environment. Migrations have led to Arabs' living all over the Middle East and North Africa. The Gulf Arabs are often associated with Saudi Arabia. Since most are animal herders, their main diet consists of goat's milk or yogurt, or rice covered with ghee. When in desert oases, they add dates as a dessert, and meat is eaten only on special occasions. Their housing is usually a long goat hair tent, which can be packed up as they travel.
Muslims have a strong bias against the validity of Christianity. It is also difficult for anyone to travel with nomads but Muslim missionaries once did it! Who will do it for the sake of Christ?
There is a need for teams of missionaries or believers who are willing to endure the harsh desert lifestyle to minister to them in various ways, including health care, literacy training and sharing Bible stories.
"The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead." Acts 17:30-31
Pray for today’s people group to repent of their sins and to believe in the God of the Bible.
Pray for Christ followers in the Arabian Peninsula to adopt and pray for the Gulf Arab nomads. Pray for the Holy Spirit to send dreams and visions to the Gulf Arabs that will awaken a hunger and thirst for the real truth when they hear about Jesus Christ. Pray for a people movement to Christ during this decade among the Gulf Arabs.
