Tujia, or "The People," are an unreached people group; but they consider themselves, "the aboriginal people." Yet this "original people," has significantly assimilated with the surrounding peoples since the 16th-century, so that today only three percent actually speak Tujia. They believe in an original "First Couple," Fuxi and Nuna, whose spirits they invoke in exorcism.
The biggest obstacle is their lack of faith in the God who gave them life. Instead, their faith is in other spirit beings.
It will be necessary to reach them via Mandarin or a nearby tribal language. These materials need to be presented as songs and skits in such a way that they do not appear foreign.
"And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped. And he said, If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, please let the Lord go in the midst of us, for it is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance." Exodus 34:8-9
Pray that members of this people group will soon have as rich an understanding of the need for God’s presence as Moses did.
Pray that they would be overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit and yield to Jesus Christ. Pray for a Disciple Making Movement to flourish among them this decade.
