Tujia, or "The People," are an unreached people group; but they consider themselves, "the aboriginal people." Yet this "original people," has significantly assimilated with the surrounding peoples since the 16th-century, so that today only three percent actually speak Tujia. They believe in an original "First Couple," Tuxi and Nuna, whose spirits they invoke in exorcism.
The biggest obstacle is their lack of faith in the God who gave them life. Instead, their faith is in other spirit beings.
It will be necessary to reach them via Mandarin or a nearby tribal language. These materials need to be presented as songs and skits in such a way that they do not appear foreign.
Moses immediately threw himself to the ground and worshiped. And he said, “O Lord, if it is true that I have found favor with you, then please travel with us. Yes, this is a stubborn and rebellious people, but please forgive our iniquity and our sins. Ex 34:8-9
Pray that members of this people group will soon have as rich an understanding of the need for God’s presence as Moses did.
Pray that they will be overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit and yield to Jesus Christ. Pray for a disciple-making movement to flourish among them this decade.
