Jordanian Arabs in Canada tend to abide in the major cities. Policies of the Canadian government have been favorable to immigrants who have wealth and business skills. There is a Jordanian-Canadian Business Association that links Jordanian and Canadian entrepreneurs who have a common interest in developing new businesses in both countries. They promote conferences, seminars, and networking opportunities to those who wish to develop strong businesses.
Most Jordanian Arabs in Canada are Muslim, and they are considered to be an unreached people group. Though militant Muslims are rare among the Jordanians, Muslims are generally skeptical about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Without His death and resurrection, there can be no salvation. To a Muslim, salvation comes from obedience to the laws set out in the Koran.
Businessmen who truly love the Lord and want to serve Him can offer seminars and conferences about business ethics. Muslims who sincerely want to run their businesses in a fair way that honors God might be interested in finding out more. Christian businessmen need to develop deep friendships with Jordanian Muslim businessmen.
As Arab populations go, Jordan has had a Christian population since before the advent of Islam, so Christianity is not new to Jordanians. Pray that the Christian Jordanians in Canada will love, honor, and obey their Heavenly Bridegroom in such a way that it will attract Muslims to Jesus.
Pray that persons and households of peace will be found among the Jordanians of Canada who will catalyze movements to Jesus among their own people. Pray these movements will spread to Jordan and other Arabic-speaking countries.
A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul. Acts 16:14
